VCBC English Worship Choir Homepage |

If you linked to this page from this homepage, please do not blame the owner. That person did not write this half of the choir page. That person did write the other half of the choir page, though. And no, I'm not responsible for that part of it. If you linked from this other page, or that other homepage, then blame me for this half.
Parts of this page are sarcastic. This page is also supposed to be really poorly written: so poorly written that it might be funny. Take what you read with a grain of salt (dump in the whole container if you want, but I won't be responsible for any negative physical/emotional/mental side effects). For now, I'd like to apologize to anyone that this page pokes fun at. (Wait a minute, that would be ... just about everyone! ;-) ) Once the choir gets a page (or even a mini-website) on the church's website (if we actually get one), this sarcasm will disappear. Hopefully.
Signed,
The author
(No, I'm not telling you who I am!)
Now that you've been warned, read on at your own risk.
The VCBC English Worship Choir sings roughly every other week during the English worship service at VCBC. Our practices are every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. (sharp, not blunt!) On the Sundays that we sing, we warm up at (NOT 9:05 or 9:15 or 9:25). The English worship service starts at 9:30 a.m.
The choir has 19 members right now, but we would like to have a lot more than this. Our members are adults and young adults ages 15 and up. We have these things in common:
Unlike many choirs, our pianists and conductors are singers when they are not playing the piano or conducting.
People have accused us of being "not a choir, but just a bunch of kids and college students who sing", but we're much more than that. Granted, we aren't as good as, say, the Willingdon Church choir, but we were a choir, we are a choir, and we will be a choir, no matter what people say. If we have a willingness to serve God, that's all that counts.
This will ABSOLUTELY NOT be put on the web. If you're in choir, you should have one. Please ask the choir coordinator if you don't have a copy. And please, don't use it to fold paper airplanes.
Our choir has an executive commmittee consisting of these five positions:
We hold exec meetings once a month after choir rehearsal. These meetings begin at 9:16 p.m. and end at 10:09 p.m. Wonder why? Check the choir directory very carefully if you're in choir (there, I gave you a hint). If you're not in choir, join choir first. THEN check the directory.
The next exec meeting is on November 12, 1998.
If I'm chairing and you're a choir exec, you'll know the URL.
Too confidential to be online. If you attended the meeting (or are in choir exec), please ask the person who took minutes (usually the choir coordinator).
If you are a choir member, you will receive ONE copy of the song schedule. If you decide to leave it, fold paper airplanes with it, trash it, or otherwise destroy it, we will no longer be giving any replacement copies.
On that page, you will find links to lyrics and audio clips from songs in our current book, songs from previous books, and songs we might want to sing. Each song also has a link to the web page for the artist/group who recorded it (in some cases, there are multiple links due to different versions by different artists).
The person that we are referring is a member of our choir. (Of course, what did you expect?) Due to privacy issues, we will no longer be showing actual pictures of any of our choir members, but we can still show cartoons, so here goes:
Just remember, I'm not responsible for the content of that half of the choir page. This person is.
No, I'm STILL not telling you who I am. But you can go back to my homepage if you want.
Latest bit of sarcasm added on November 10, 1998.
