Who Are We?

The VCBC English Worship Choir sings roughly every other week during the English worship service at VCBC. We rehearse every Thursday from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. On the Sundays that we sing, warmups start at 9:00 a.m.. The English worship service starts at 9:30 a.m.

The choir has 19 members right now, but we would love to have more members. Our members are adults and young adults ages 15 and up. We have these things in common:

• We are born-again Christians.
• We like to sing. (This is a choir, after all). By the way, knowing how to sing/read music is different from liking to sing.
• We would like the congregation to hear God's message through our singing.

Unlike many choirs, our pianists and conductors are singers when they are not playing the piano or conducting.

Choir Directory

This will ABSOLUTELY NOT be put on the web. If you're in choir, you should have one. Please ask the choir coordinator if you don't have a copy.

Executive Committee

Our choir has an executive commmittee consisting of these five positions:

• Two Conductors: responsible for picking/rehearsing/conducting songs, putting out song schedules, chairing exec meetings, making announcements, being in charge of Choir Appreciation Night and the Choir BBQ, maintaining the choir guidelines
  OPTIONAL: maintaining the two halves of the choir homepage
• Choir Coordinator: responsible for minutes, attendance, microphones, choir directory
• Librarian: responsible for books, robes, passing out bulletins
• Public Relations: responsible for promotion, liaison between the choir and other departments in church

We hold exec meetings once a month after choir rehearsal. These meetings begin at 9:16 p.m. and end at 10:09 p.m. Wonder why? If you have a choir directory, check it very carefully to find the answer.

Because we want to reduce the church's paper and copier ink consumption, each choir member will only receive ONE copy of the latest song schedule. If you should lose your copy, you can download and print a replacement copy. If any changes are made to the song schedule after it has been given out, you can download and print an updated version. We will not be handing out updates. Nor will I specify on this page whether or not an update has been made to the schedule.

On that page, you will find links to lyrics and audio clips from songs in our current book, songs from previous books, and songs we might want to sing. Each song also has a link to the web page for the artist/group who recorded it (in some cases, there are multiple links due to different versions by different artists).
